That improved capability begins with more powerful, responsive engines.
The 6.6-liter gas and 6.6-liter Duramax turbo-diesel both were tweaked to improve output to a SAE-certified 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque.
Both Silverado HD turbo engines are equipped with the renowned Allison 10-speed automatic transmission for the first time.

The Silverado HD also features an alert system that notifies the driver if the pickup truck and trailer weight exceeds the vehicle's gross combined weight rating. It also features a new Adaptive Cruise Control with Towing feature accounts for the weight.

Assembly production begins in the first half of 2023 at General Motors’ Flint Assembly in Michigan, and at Oshawa Assembly.
